Album

Con Ojos de Fe (With the Eyes of Faith) brings together the best of Latin America in one compilation. The CD features some popular songs that have been around for more than two decades in various corners of Latin America – and now, available worldwide.

With 20 tracks running close to an hour, every listener will be saturated with the native sounds of the continent that directly captures the heart.

History & Purpose:

In the early ‘70s, the Baha’is of Latin America were moving forward with great energy. It was then than a great need for music arose – music that would be in Spanish, would bring the Baha’i-inspired message of unity and peace to the rural and urban communities and be done in a way that would be popular and inspiring for all listeners.

In 1974 the Continental Board of Counsellors for the Baha’i community, specifically Counsellor Peter McClaren (Venezuela) and Masu’d Khamsi (Peru) began searching for this type of music all over Latin America. After a few years of hard-labor, they were able to indentify artists across the continent, record their songs, compile, produce and ultimately distribute the collection in three cassette tapes. Later, this multi-national collaborative project was reduced to it’s current track list of twenty songs and released in LP.

During the late ‘70s and ‘80s the Con Ojos de Fe LP album found great acceptance and enthusiasm all over the Americas and its songs have become classics that are still sang to this day.

Fast-forward to 2012 and here it is, a digitized, re-mastered complete album in the latest technological formats, offering the message of unity, love and understanding to an international audience.  By releasing this compilation, we hope to reach and inspire the Spanish-speaking populations around the globe; at the same time, we hope it serves as a tool to introduce Latin American culture and the Baha’i artists to the greater community.
